Our Summer Dance Intensive program will be offered to high school and college aged dancers (this includes anyone going into 9th grade this coming school year through to college students). Accepted dancers will then be invited to participate in any or all film projects we mount throughout the year, as their studio or school commitments allow (studio and school commitments take priority). This is a great opportunity to get professional company experience and add it to your dance resume!
During the week long summer intensive running July 27-August 1, 2026, we will choreograph and film a new work for premier in fall 2026. If you are accepted into the summer intensive, a one-time tuition fee of $175 will be due. This includes all class time, filming, costumes, and any future involvement with Wildwood Dance Project dance films. Financial hardship scholarships are available through a grant from the Ballantine Family Fund.

What will company auditions consist of?
What is required of company members?
Wildwood nurtures a consistent creative community. We value each dancer and look for ways to highlight their strengths and creativity, and offer opportunities for dancers to grow their creative resumes.
To be a member of the company, we ask that dancers attend a weekly dance class of their choice (to keep up technique), and be involved in at least two dance films each year, either as a dancer/performer, choreographer, film editor, cinematographer, or filming assistant.
Wildwood choreographs and films 3-4 dance films each year. We host 2-3 rehearsals during evenings when we near a filming project. Our filming dates usually coincide with a weekend, and require dancers and filming assistants to commit to a mutually agreed upon date and time frame. 4-6 hours of filming over a weekend is usual.

Guest Artist
Would you like to be considered for a Guest Artist position at Wildwood Dance Project?
We are accepting applications for filmmakers and choreographers who want to create a dance film with us. Guest Artists positions are held for one year. You do not have to live in Durango to be considered for a Guest Artist position. Expectations include either filming/directing a film, or choreographing a work on us, or both.
We invite those interested to send an email to wildwooddanceproject@gmail.com including your resume, a headshot, and attached links to any work/film reels available online.
