WDP Youth Company

The Wildwood Dance Project Youth Company and Summer Intensive was established to introduce high school male and female dancers (ages 14–18) to the emerging field of dance on film, while equipping them with the tools of artistic authorship and collaboration. This is not a traditional dance camp — it is an intensive immersion in choreography, storytelling, and film production. The program culminates in a professionally produced dance film, created by students and premiered for both live and digital audiences in the fall. Youth Company members are also invited to participate in future WDP films. These films serve as a lasting portfolio piece for students, many of whom go on to apply for university dance programs, arts careers, and leadership roles in their schools and communities.

The Youth Company kickstarted in the summer of 2025. Each summer we will hold auditions for the following school year. If you are entering high school in 2026 you are eligible for auditions summer 2026. See our auditions page for details.

Thank you to the Ballantine Fund of Durango for their most generous grant to make the Youth Company possible.

We are deeply grateful for the support of our funding partners, who make this transformative work possible. Together, we are raising up a new generation of storytellers who are unafraid to move, speak, and shape the world through art.
